Parent Questionnaire
All parents will be asked to please complete this document. The purpose of this document is to expedite the information process, and to give me a better idea of the individual needs within my classroom. There is no due date for this document, but the sooner I receive the document, the better I am able to create the best learning environment possible, based on the needs and wishes of the students and their families.
Student Interview
All students will be asked to complete this document. This will help me to get to know the students a bit better, and it will give the students a chance to express any concerns or hopes for the year.
Class Time
We will be doing a variety of activities throughout the day when we are at school. The goal is to target as many learning styles as possible, with a variety of activities, so that each learner has an opportunity to learn in a way that is meaningful, personal, creative, and engaging.
Emily Press Labels - Fundraiser
I always buy these clothing stickers/labels from Emily Press. These work really well, and are reasonably priced. The other day when I was purchasing new labels, I noticed that they have a fundraiser section. Sooooo.... if you ever happen to buy clothing labels, please consider purchasing through our link, so that we can do some fundraising, to put those funds towards class activities and materials. I could be wrong... but when I compared the prices on Emily Press *without* the fundraiser link, and then *with* the link, the prices appeared to be the same... which means that you would still be spending the same amount of labels... but our class gets a bit of a kickback in the process!

What to bring
Students will be asked to bring in these items to school. Students should have these items at school all the time. Regarding the bin - students need a bin large enough to house their supplies. They need to be able to fit their pencils, paper, books, etc. Students can bring in a larger bin if they feel that they need it. The size and style of bin is up to you. Please bring something that is large enough to contain all of their personal belongings, other than their jackets. You may choose a bin that is locking or not. Any style or size of bin is accepted. We will make room for their bins. Students are welcome to bring home their storage bin each week (or even each day). This will reduce the frequency of 'desk abyss' :) This also makes it easier for students to keep their belongings protected.
There is a cloak cubby where they can leave their coats and shoes.

Students should have PE shoes that they can leave at school in a separate gym bag. They can leave their gym bag in the cloak cubby, or in their personal storage bin. Students do not have to change for PE, but it is a good idea to have a back-up PE outfit, in case they wear something to school which is not really conducive to physical activity. They will not be changing in a locker room - they will have to change in the bathroom stall if necessary. Students will not be forced to change for PE, but at least they have a backup outfit at school if their regular classroom outfit doesn't work for PE.
